Climbing
Combines both a personal challenge and a team challenge. Letting individuals grow through pushing their boundaries, and putting their trust in the group to control the rope, whilst climbing up to 60ft off the ground.
Abseiling
Takes great courage, pushing a student’s sense of self and ability, as they find out if they have what it takes to lean out from the 60ft tower. The individual realising that they can overcome this, and many more challenges, with the help and encouragement of the rest of the team
Kayaking
A personal water based challenge of learning a new skill in an unfamiliar environment. This is a brilliant opportunity for individuals, who may struggle with learning in the class room, to show that they have the ability to engage with the group, and the task, in a more hands on learning environment.
Canoeing
This activity calls for the group to learn both a new skill and work together as a team of up to 4 people. Through games and experiential learning, groups will develop their communication skills, whilst enjoying the environment of the River Nene.
Archery
An opportunity to learn an ancient skill, it also develops support and trust for the rest of the group. This gives the group the opportunity to hone their coordination and perception skills.
Rafting
Letting the group plan and build a raft as a team, all the group have to work together in order to create a successful raft. The group get to use a broad range of skills from design and build ability to physical strength, as they test their final creation in the pool.
High ropes
With courage and team support individuals must find the nerve to climb and stand on a telegraph pole, and make the leap of faith! They then climb the 60ft tower and have the opportunity to fly over Grendon on the 250 meter zip line, this activity encourages groups to support each other and challenge themselves.
Ropes challenge
Using an ancient nautical technique, the group have to use team work to hoist individuals on the bosun’s chair up to the top of the climbing tower. Here they are released as they travel at speed back down the wire. The group then take on the challenge of the swamp, using communication, team work and determination to cross the ropes, wires and tyre obstacles.
Orienteering
Groups gain the basics of map reading to navigate their way around Grendon Hall in small teams, working on a new skill as well as gaining abilities in spatial awareness and team work.
Team building
Using basic tasks, to learn how individuals work when within a team, and developing ways in which to work more effectively together. Tasks start at an easy level building up the challenge as the team gains in personal and group ability.
Swimming Pools
We have 2 outdoor pools of which one is heated. They are open from May through to October. We provide fully qualified lifeguards to ensure your safety.
