Foundation and Key Stage 1 Activities- New for 2009

Grendon Hall are happy to announce the opening of our new Foundation and Key Stage 1 Programme.

The programme consists of three activities-
• Kurt and Michael's Work Bench
• The Caterpilla Course
• Archery

Kurt and Michael's Work Bench

This activity involves children in learning how to safely work with hammer and nails in a controlled environment.

It encourages autonomy, and links with learning to manage risk, learning intention

The tasks introduce the basic use of tools.

Outcomes:-
• Improve hand eye co-ordination
• Develops fine motor skills
• Introduces risk management

The Caterpilla Course

This exciting low ropes course is specifically designed for Foundation and Key Stage 1 children. It helps to develop their natural inquisitiveness and sense of adventure with a range of activities.
• Balance beam
• See saw walkway
• Mini zip line

Develops:-
• Confidence
• Spatial awareness
• Balance control
• Co-ordination
• Team work
• Risk management

Archery

Archery is the perfect activity to develop hand and eye co-ordination and balance. This activity has been designed with Foundation and Key Stage 1 Children in mind. All equipment is suitable for this age group: the overarching advantage of this activity is to provide an introduction to risk management.

Photogrpahic Sequence

Waterproof digital cameras are provided throughout the activities which supports and promotes post activity discussion and development work.

Costs and Booking

• All of these activities are included in a half day sesion lasting around 2 1/2 hours.
• Each session is £7.50 per child
Packages including half day or full days, coach/mini bus hire, lunches and room rental can be arranged.
