DUKE OF EDINBURGH ACHIEVEMENTS RECOGNISED

Young people from Northamptonshire who took part in the Duke of Edinburgh awards scheme were recognised for their hard work at a ceremony at the Castle Theatre in Wellingborough on Wednesday 4th July.

320 awards were achieved by young people from across the county and 105 of them received their certificates at a special presentation arranged to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the award.

The awards were presented by chief executive officer of the Duke of Edinburgh's Award, Peter Westgarth and deputy lord lieutenant John Gardner who also attended the event.

A special interview with Monty Panesar, who is to be a sports champion for the award scheme was screened during the evening and otther entertainment included the Broadway School of Performing Arts and Kyreme Arts in Education.
